Our Creation Process
1) Concept Sketch
Every knife painting begins with a hand-drawn concept sketch. The artist studies the landscape, captures the essence of Sichuan mountains and rivers, and plans the composition before touching the blade to canvas.
2) Blade Shaping
Using specially forged steel blades, the artist carves and shapes the surface of the painting. The blade work creates texture, depth, and the distinctive relief that defines knife painting as an art form.
3) Color Layering
Pigments are applied in multiple layers, each one carefully dried and refined. The layering technique builds rich, luminous colors that seem to glow from within the textured surface.
4) Drying And Framing
After the final color layer is complete, the artwork undergoes a controlled drying process. Once fully cured, it is mounted in a handcrafted frame chosen to complement the painting’s character.
5) Protective Packaging
Each finished piece is wrapped in acid-free materials and secured in custom protective packaging, ensuring it arrives at its new home in perfect condition.
